Adaptive Dance

Want to be active and creative in a supportive setting? Move in new ways, release tension, and have fun through a variety of guided dance movement activities.

No dance experience needed. All abilities welcome.

Adaptive Dance classes have wrapped up for Spring 2017.

To register:

Registration is through Saanich Recreation, either by calling 250-475-7121, registering online, or going in person to Cedar Hill Recreation Centre (3220 Cedar Hill Road).

Location:

Classes are at Cedar Hill Recreation (3220 Cedar Hill Road), in the Dance Studio, which is wheelchair-accessible and accessed via a ramp with two turns (if you are using an extra wide power chair or a longer scooter, please be in touch if you would like to know the width dimensions of the ramp).

More details:

This class is focused on inclusivity. Activities are geared to the group who is present and adapted to accommodate the participants present. Suggestions and feedback on how the class could be more accessible for you, is welcome before, during and after a class.

Please avoid use of perfumed/scented products on the day of the class.

Geared to ages 19+.

If you require support to participate, please come with a caregiver, friend or support worker. Thank-you!

Classes are facilitated by Joanne Cuffe, who leads dance programs with adults with diverse ways of moving, perceiving and interacting, through a dozen local organizations.
